Miley Cyrus is opening up about her first relationship.
On the Friday, June 6 episode of the Every Single Album podcast, the singer and former Disney Channel star made a rare comment about her ex-boyfriend from over 15 years ago, Nick Jonas. While on the topic of her 2009 book Miles to Go, the songstress recalled what she thought about including about her former flame.
© FilmMagic"I probably was like … 'Nick Jonas dumped me, he’s a d**k.' But they were like, 'We can say he’s not a very nice boy,' " she said about the ghostwriter with whom she worked on the book. "But I was probably like, ‘He’s an a**hole.' "
"I like Nick," Cyrus went on to say of her feelings towards him now. "I'm into him." She did acknowledge that Jonas is now "married with children" and that "we’re all moving on," saying, "Everything is good in the world. Niley for life," referencing their couple name.
The Hannah Montana alum also also joked that despite the relationship being so long ago, Jonas is still "catching strays" along with Cyrus' ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.
© Getty Images for The Met Museum/Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas first met in June 2006 at a charity benefit. At the time, the Jonas Brothers were opening for Miley as Hannah Montana on her Best of Both Worlds tour, with the band making an appearance on an episode of Hannah Montana the next year.
During their time together, they also collaborated on the song "Before the Storm," from the Jonas Brothers' 2009 album Lines, Vines and Trying Times, along with "We Got the Party." At the end of 2007, the Disney Channel stars broke up, with fans speculating that Cyrus' song "7 Things" from her 2008 album Breakout was about their split.
"We became boyfriend and girlfriend the day we met," Cyrus revealed in a 2008 cover story for Seventeen. "He was on a quest to meet me, and he was like, ‘I think you’re beautiful and I really like you.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I like you so much.'"
"Nick and I loved each other,” she said at the time. "We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. But it was really hard to keep it from people. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn’t fun."
