There’s no man more special to Salma Hayek than her husband, Kering chairman François-Henri Pinault, and the Frida star made sure the world knew it on his 63rd birthday.
Posting to her 30-million-strong Instagram following, Hayek shared a throwback photo from Venice in 2011: a beaming Pinault cradles their then-four-year-old daughter, Valentina Paloma, while Hayek stands beside them in a burgundy, three-quarter-sleeve Gucci gown.
“Happy birthday, my love!” the actress captioned in both Spanish and English. “As time goes by, I fall for you more deeply every day. We love you so, so much.”
Fans clearly felt the love: in just a few hours, the post racked up more than 120,000 likes and hundreds of comments celebrating Pinault and praising the family’s bond. Among the well-wishers was model Maye Musk, who chimed in, “Happy Birthday François-Henri 🎂🎉😍.”
A Red Carpet Power Couple
The birthday shout-out comes hot on the heels of the pair’s appearance at the 78th Cannes Film Festival earlier this month. On May 18, Hayek and Pinault attended the Kering Women in Motion Awards at Cannes’ picturesque Place de la Castre, looking every bit the united (and impossibly chic) duo.
Respect at the Core of the Relationship
Hayek has long credited respect and independence as the cornerstones of their marriage. Speaking to Madame Figaro, the Beatriz at Dinner actress explained: “I feel free. Not once has François made me feel that my work or my passions interfere with our marriage. The pillar of our relationship is respect, especially for each other’s independence.”
The Mexican star continued, “We’re not seeking to merge into one; except for brief moments, we need to build individual strength first. The ability to truly share comes only afterwards.”
With nearly two decades together and countless public-display-of-affection moments, Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault prove that glamour and grounded devotion can go hand in hand—even in the spotlight.
