Jaden Smith is no stranger to the spotlight, with his successful career as both an actor and a musician. He is also a familiar face at fashion events and continues to be the face of top brands and campaigns while pursuing his artistry and influencing a new generation.
Recently, the multi-talented star had a candid moment on the streets of New York City, where he was approached by David Carmi, a content creator, who is known for making impromptu interviews.
Jaden looked effortlessly cool in a laid-back, yet stylish ensemble. He sported baggy light-wash jeans, paired with a red Supreme belt, and a blue cropped sweater layered over a white t-shirt. He completed the look with a red hat, a black tote bag, and minimal jewelry.
While heading to his vehicle, Jaden was asked a simple question. However, the musician took his time to answer. “What makes you confident?” Carmi asked. After a brief pause, Jaden, who has previously shared a glimpse into his creative process and has opened up about mental health issues, gave an unexpected response.
"You know, I don’t even know that I am confident," Jaden said, before adding with sincerity, “Honestly, that’s my honest answer to that.” After reflecting on his lack of confidence, the interviewer asked a different question, regarding his success, and the "influential" people he has been surrounded with throughout his life.
Carmi continued, shifting the focus to his impressive career. He asked who Jaden credits for his success and the influences that have helped him carve out such a distinctive path in the entertainment industry.
Without hesitation, Jaden’s answer was rooted in faith. “To God. God,” he responded, before entering his vehicle. The video was shared on social media, and online users praised him for his responses. "Jaden just gained some points for humility," one person wrote, while someone else commented, "He really doesn’t deserve the hate he gets. All he does is chill and wear what he wants I love that for him."
"I don’t care what anyone says. He might be quirky. But he has a kind soul! He’s doing projects that has provided clean water to some of the residents in Detroit… he has a good heart," another online user added.
