The legal battle between Daddy Yankee and Mireddys González just keeps escalating. After nearly 30 years of marriage, the former couple is now facing off in court over control of the companies they built together: Los Cangris and El Cartel Records. And now, Mireddys is asking the court to hold the reggaetón star in civil contempt and fine him $5,000 per day.

According to documents filed on May 16 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Mireddys claims Daddy Yankee—real name Ramón Ayala Rodríguez—has failed to comply with a court ruling from December 2024. That agreement said he would resume the presidency of the companies, but that any expense over $100,000 would need approval from both of them. He also agreed to submit monthly reports on the company’s operations.

But according to Mireddys, none of that has happened. She said he failed to provide those monthly reports for January, February, and March of this year and that on April 10, the artist submitted a single, consolidated report that contained “incomplete, ambiguous, and/or vague” information. The report, she says, did not allow for identification of the financial data of each company separately, leaving her unable to understand “everything concerning” the companies.

In her filing, Mireddys also explained that on May 7, her legal representatives sent a formal information request to the corporations. However, as of the date she submitted her motion to the court, she says, “Ramón, as president of the corporations, has not responded at all.”

The request states, “(It is requested that if) Ramón does not prove that he has complied with the orders issued by this honorable court regarding this urgent request, he be found in civil contempt and fined $5,000 for each day of noncompliance until he proves compliance, and that the fine be recorded daily,” according to the document shared by Puerto Rican outlet El Nuevo Día.

The filing submitted by Mireddys’ legal team gave the artist until May 21 to comply with the court’s demands. However, Judge Anthony Cuevas Ramos issued an order granting a final 10-day extension for the singer to respond, after he requested more time. If he still doesn’t follow through, Mireddys is asking the court to fine him daily until he does.

This all comes on top of Daddy Yankee’s $250 million lawsuit against Mireddys and her sister Ayeicha, which is still ongoing.
