Jenna Ortega and The Weeknd brought serious energy to New York City on Tuesday night, following the premiere of 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' with an exclusive afterparty that turned the Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel into a star-studded celebration.
After walking the red carpet in an iconic 90s dress for the debut of their new psychological thriller, Jenna joined The Weeknd and the rest of the cast to celebrate the theatrical release of their latest movie.
The stars headed downtown and kept the momentum going, this time showing off their dance moves and having celebratory drinks. The Weeknd, who also executive-produced the movie and recently dropped its companion album, took over the DJ booth for the night, spinning tracks and setting the mood for the crowd.
The actress wore another 90s throwback look for the party, stepping out in a silky pink minidress paired with a gray fur coat, a glamorous makeup look, and silver strappy heels. Meanwhile, the singer wore a stylish black ensemble paired with a camel coat.
But it was his chemistry with Jenna that quickly caught the room’s attention. The two stars were seen vibing comfortably, exchanging hugs, chatting closely, and sharing more than a few laughs.
"The Weeknd made sure to make Jenna feel special as he hyped her up to the crowd,” TMZ reported, capturing exclusive video from the party. Despite the online attention about their on-screen dynamic, the movie has had some mixed reactions.
The Weeknd’s longtime girlfriend, Simi Khadra, was also at the party, accompanying the stars throughout the night. Holding his hand and staying within arm’s reach, Simi looked effortlessly supportive as her partner celebrated.
The couple, first linked in 2022, ended the night hand-in-hand, putting to rest any speculation that the singer’s warm interaction with Jenna was anything more than friendly.
Before stepping away from the DJ booth, The Weeknd made one last request. “He even cut the music to make sure his instructions were clear: a shot for everyone,” TMZ reported.
