Jennifer Lopez, pop icon, dancer, actress, mogul, and woman who seemingly never sleeps, revealed via Instagram that she recently took a not-so-glamorous hit during rehearsals for her big American Music Awards comeback.

On Tuesday, May 13, the "Love Don't Cost a Thing" singer posted a Story showing off a gnarly-looking cut across the bridge of her famously flawless nose. In the next frame, she was seen icing the injury like a true pro with a casual and slightly cryptic: "So… this happened."

The Show Must Go On

The injury reportedly occurred during rehearsals for the 2025 American Music Awards, which J.Lo is performing at and hosting. Jenny from the Block is pulling double duty this year, and she's not letting a little nose gash slow her down.

In a follow-up Story, Lopez assured fans she's healing up, thanks to a visit to celebrity go-to Dr. Diamond. "A week later and a whole lotta ice and I'm good as new," she shared, proving that even when life hits her in the face, J.Lo comes back stronger and shinier.

The AMAs air live from Las Vegas on Monday, May 26, and Lopez is clearly planning to hit that stage like nothing happened. Just under two weeks to go, and judging by her track record, she'll probably show up glowing like she was born under a disco ball.

J.Lo's Full-Circle AMA Moment

This return to the AMAs stage is kind of a big deal. It's been ten years since Lopez last hosted the show in 2015, and nearly 25 years since her first AMA performance back in 2001. "It's pretty incredible, right? Fifty years of the American Music Awards," she said in a retrospective interview celebrating the show's 50th anniversary in 2024. "I remember watching them at home when I was a little girl."

Lopez has graced the AMA stage more than 10 times throughout her career and took home the Favorite Latin Artist award in 2011, an honor she called "incredibly special" because it came from fans, not critics.

"It's just a humbling experience," she said. And considering the recent humbling by way of a rehearsal accident, we'd say she's living that sentiment right now.

Jennifer's Summer-Launching Stage Takeover

Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, announced J.Lo's hosting duties in April. "Jennifer's incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host of the show," he said. We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick-off celebration of summer."

Even while prepping for one of music's biggest nights (and icing her face), Lopez made time to celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 11. She shared a heartfelt post featuring a framed photo of her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, and a bouquet. "A most beautiful Mother's Day to all the mamas out there," she captioned the image, sending love, laughter, peace, joy, and happiness to her fellow moms.

In true J.Lo fashion, there's no slowing down. With her hosting gig just around the corner, an injury barely in the rearview mirror, and a fanbase that would probably watch her read the phone book, Lopez is in a league of her own.

Will she address the injury live during the show? Pull off a dazzling performance without missing a beat? Probably both. Catch the 2025 American Music Awards live from the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas on Monday, May 26 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
