Madonna spent Mother's Day with the people she loves the most. The icon shared a sweet message earlier today, sharing some rare photos with each of her kids and revealing that she spent Sunday with most of them.
The post was shared on Instagram and included photos of Madonna alongside all of her children, including Rocco, Lourdes, David, Mercy, Stella and Estere.
"I spent Mother’s Day weekend with 5 of my 6 children," wrote Madonna in the caption.
"Sunshine laughter, horseback riding. soccer, and the sound of music! The best gift they gave me was the gift of not arguing and being loving to one another. When you raise children to be unique and opinionated, you also create your own debate team!!!"
She concluded her caption by sending a message to all mothers. "Motherhood could never be described with a few words. Nothing can prepare you. Happy Mother’s Day !! To All the Women out there doing the Heavy Lifting !"
Photos shared show that Madonna spent the day with most of her kids, except for Rocco, whom she also included in the post, showing a photo of her hugging her son from behind.
She also included photos with each of their kids individually, including one with Lourdes Leon, where the two are dressed elegantly, with Madonna wearing a black coat and Lourdes wearing a cheetah print coat.
Madonna's relationship with her kids
Madonna often shares her thoughts on parenting and how challenging it is. In a 2023 profile with Vanity Fair she revealed that parenting "has been the most difficult, the hardest battle." She revealed that one of the biggest struggles for her is to be a mother while also maintaining a time-consuming career.
"No one gives you a manual. You have to learn from mistakes," she said. "It is a profession that requires a lot of time. And it is exhausting because there is never rest."
