In a rare family interview, Kaia Gerber and her brother Presley Gerber shared what it was like growing up with famous parents. The Gerber-Crawford family has always been in the spotlight, mainly due to the impact Cindy Crawford had throughout her successful career.
The celebrity family has always kept a close relationship, sharing their love and support for each other. Kaia, now known for her success in the modeling and entertainment business, shares her mom's passion for fashion and acting.
During a recent interview with Today, Kaia admitted that she would have followed in her mom's footsteps no matter what profession she had chosen, as she has incredible admiration. “I think probably no matter what she did, I would have wanted to do that," Kaia said.
"She’s always been my biggest inspiration and hero,” she added. Meanwhile, her brother Presley, who also ventured into the fashion industry, recalled how, as kids, they were aware of their mom's fame.
“It was definitely the attention, like when people would walk by and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, that’s Cindy Crawford.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah. I think. I’m pretty sure it is,’” Presley said, reflecting on the times when their mom would be recognized in public.
"The greatest thing about having kids is you just… instantly know your priorities. You know it’s always family first,” Cindy said, explaining how motherhood shifted her focus in life. She also fondly remembered a time when young Presley thought she didn’t work at all.
“I think you told your preschool teachers that I didn’t work,” she laughed. “I was like, ‘Wow, that means I’m doing a great job,’ because he doesn’t feel my absence so much," the model added.
Cindy never pressured Kaia or Presley into following in her footsteps, even though Kaia was modeling from a young age. “You are so not a stage mom,” Kaia said to her mom. “It’s in a way where I’m like I kind of wish you were a little bit more, but she’s so not a stage mom at all, because she’s had her own life experiences, and she has never lived vicariously through us.”
