Shaun White isn’t just good at snowboarding and skateboarding; he's good at electric scooters, too. The 38-year-old was spotted taking his fiancée, Nina Dobrev, for a spring stroll through NYC’s West Village.
The five-time Olympian took the lead for the two-wheel adventure. He wore a casual navy blue look with sunglasses and a white hat, while the Canadian actress kept it classic in a headband, sunglasses, and a beige pea coat.
It’s been an exciting last few months for the couple, who got engaged in October 2024. The two were first introduced in 2019 and moved in together at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The former professional athlete surprised Dobrev at the Golden Swan restaurant in Manhattan’s West Village and proposed with a 5-carat diamond ring under a white arch of roses and candles.
He later shared a video of the proposal reflecting on their love story, writing, “Our quarantine romance turned into this beautiful relationship, and now a forever love. Believe me when I say that this app mostly shows us at our best. Behind the curtain like any relationship, we’ve had our struggles. But it’s our ability to communicate and repair that keeps us moving forward together."
Their Wedding
They’ve been engaged since October, but the couple is enjoying their time together and isn’t rushing to start wedding planning. The actress told PEOPLE she was surprised how often people ask her when the wedding is. “Literally the day of. The first day. I think when we got off, when we told Shaun’s mom, the first thing she asked was, ‘When’s the wedding?’” she told the outlet.
We’re just enjoying being engaged at this point and being in that sort of phase because a lot of your life is—you have a boyfriend for half of your life and then you have a husband for half of your life, but the fiancé period is very short,” she told E! News.
One day they will walk down the aisle, but for now, the couple is enjoying their opportunity to call each other "fiancé."
