Zendaya is currently embracing her bridal era. A few months ago, she hit the Golden Globes red carpet in Louis Vuitton and dropped major news: she’s engaged to Tom Holland. That stunning engagement ring instantly went viral. So when she showed up at the Met Gala, the big question was, will they pose together on the Met steps? The answer: no. But she did deliver a bridal look we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

The Euphoria star, who grew up under the Disney Channel spotlight, has undoubtedly become a true global style icon. Everything she wears goes viral, and her look for fashion’s biggest night was no exception. Rumors hinted she’d wear a tailored suit, in line with the dress code inspired by Black dandyism, but no one expected her to pull it off in such a striking, unforgettable way.

She showed up in a flawless white four-piece suit designed by Pharrell Williams, the current creative director of menswear at Louis Vuitton. The look included a silk shirt, a fitted vest, a sharply tailored one-button jacket with subtle shoulder pads, a matching tie, and flared trousers.

Sure, the look nods to the rock-infused legacy of the 1940s Zoot Suit, but there’s another layer we couldn’t ignore—one that ties perfectly to Zendaya’s current moment, and you’re going to love it. Her choice to wear a custom tuxedo was no accident. Beyond aligning with the night’s theme, it subtly honors her bridal era through the crisp tailoring, the hat, and her sparkling Bvlgari jewels.

Zendaya appears to be embracing the color she'll likely wear when she says "I do" to Holland in the lead-up to her highly anticipated wedding, and it perfectly suits her. And as for her inspiration? Think ‘70s icon.

Zendaya’s Look: A Clear Throwback

The moment she stepped out of her hotel en route to the Met, it was obvious where the reference came from—and yes, it’s tied to a wedding. Fashion lovers and bridal moment obsessives will instantly recall those legendary paparazzi shots from Bianca Jagger and Mick Jagger’s 1971 wedding in Saint-Tropez. The hat, the tailoring, the attitude—Zendaya’s look is a modern love letter to that unforgettable style moment.

That spring morning became one for the history books—not just because they were one of the most talked-about couples of the era, but thanks to Bianca Jagger’s unforgettable bridal look by Yves Saint Laurent, which continues to inspire to this day. She wore a stunning tuxedo-style jacket—completely bare underneath, showcasing her neckline—paired with a bias-cut midi skirt that elegantly concealed her four-month pregnancy.

To set a bold and unforgettable tone, Bianca Jagger opted for a wide-brimmed white hat with a veil, a styling choice that defied bridal tradition and has since become a popular choice for modern brides seeking to defy the traditional norm. Just that accessory altered the entire look.

However, it's important to note that Anna Sawai, a New Zealand actress and dancer, also made an impression at the Met Gala with her stunning bridal tailoring. New Zealand actress and dancer Anna Sawai also stepped out in a crisp white suit, echoing Zendaya’s look down to the tie and wide-brimmed hat. Talk about a stylish coincidence. Now we’re just hoping someone captured the two together—because that would be one legendary fashion moment.
