Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus are reportedly on the path to marriage following their unexpected and fast-moving romance.
The 59-year-old actress and 63-year-old country music star caused a stir online over Easter weekend when they went public with their relationship, sharing a cozy Instagram photo of themselves cuddling near a fence in a picturesque field.
Friends of Elizabeth have now told The Sun that wedding bells might not be far off for the couple. Despite coming from very different walks of life, their shared hobbies and common ground have played a big role in their connection.
“People think Billy and Liz couldn’t be more different, but they’re actually alike in a lot of ways,” a friend said. “They share similar passions, and that’s been the foundation of their bond.”
The source added, “Billy is just Liz’s type—he’s got that sparkle in his eye and a mischievous charm she finds irresistible.”
This wouldn't be Hurley’s first time tying the knot. She previously married businessman Arun Nayar in 2007, celebrating their union with two elaborate ceremonies: a civil wedding in a British castle followed by a traditional Hindu celebration in India.
Though the couple officially split in 2011, they’ve remained on good terms, still appearing together at events and maintaining a friendship. In a 2018 interview with the Daily Mail's YOU magazine, Elizabeth described the divorce as remarkably smooth and drama-free, joking that her lawyer said it was the cheapest case she ever handled because neither side made demands.
Meanwhile, Billy Ray Cyrus has opened up about his budding relationship with Elizabeth during a recent appearance on The Ty Bentli Show on Apple Music Country. Just days after making their romance public, the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer shared how the two reconnected during a rough patch in his life, following his split from Firerose last year.
Cyrus recalled feeling completely beaten down when he unexpectedly received a kind message from Elizabeth, his co-star from the 2022 film Christmas in Paradise. “I was at a low point, thinking, ‘How could things get any worse?’ And then this friend reached out,” he shared. The message, according to Billy Ray, said something like, “It seems like you’re going through a tough time—just know I’m here for you and you’ve got someone in your corner.”
“I replied, ‘Who is this?’ And the response was, ‘Elizabeth Hurley.’ Of all people, she was the one to reach out exactly when I needed it,” he said. Even though they hadn’t spoken since finishing their film two years earlier, Billy Ray remembered a certain spark between them during their brief scenes together.
“We laughed a lot, and back then, I wasn’t really laughing much,” Cyrus said. “What surprised me most was how naturally we connected—despite our differences, we actually had so much in common.”
