Malia and Sasha Obama enjoy an Easter picnic with friends

Malia and Sasha Obama were spotted soaking up the California vibes on Easter Sunday with a cozy afternoon picnic in Los Angeles. The former First Daughters looked effortlessly cool as they strolled through a tree-lined path with a tight-knit crew, including filmmaker Tiler Wilson.

Gone are the days of White House Easter Egg Rolls; this year's vibe was decidedly more low-key. The group looked relaxed and ready to unplug, carrying picnic essentials like blankets, snacks, drinks, and what appeared to be a healthy dose of weekend energy.

Malia, 25, led the pack with a purple cooler slung in one hand, clearly the designated snack MVP. Wearing a layered, earth-toned outfit and rocking her signature boho curls, she looked casual and confident.

Sasha, 23, trailed close behind in dark layers with a splash of color from a cozy blanket tucked under her arm. She was joined by a few friends, including Wilson, who has quietly made a name for himself in indie film circles, along with another casually dressed companion.

The group seemed headed toward a shady spot, and we're told more friends joined them later to complete the Easter hangout. A nearby trash can hints that they might have been near a public park.

This sighting marks yet another glimpse into Malia and Sasha's post-White House life. Malia has been busy pursuing a screenwriting and directing career in L.A., while Sasha graduated from USC and has largely stayed out of the spotlight. The fact that they can enjoy a chill holiday Sunday with close friends, away from the chaos of flashing bulbs and political noise, feels both refreshing and deserved.

Of course, anytime the Obama sisters step out, there's interest, not because they're doing anything outrageous but precisely because they aren't. They're relatable, real, and living a version of young adulthood that's both aspirational and down-to-earth.

Also, can we shout out the vibe coordination? Earthy neutrals, cozy knits, and just enough utilitarian flair to carry picnic goods without looking like a mess. It's low-key fashion inspo for your next weekend park date.

The Obamas may have left the White House, but their influence on chill, grounded elegance is still going strong. Whether it's in politics, media, or an afternoon under the trees, Malia and Sasha continue to set the tone for what it means to move forward with grace and surrounded by good people.

On March 12th, their mother, Michelle Obama, launched the IMO (In My Opinion) podcast, where she shares the mic with her brother, Craig Robinson. The space is dedicated to discussing "everyday issues that shape our lives, our relationships, and the world around us." The former First Lady of the United States has been more candid than ever, sharing some of her most intimate and family moments.

During her interview with Kylie Kelce, Michelle Obama opened up about her experience as a mother and what it has meant for her to raise her two daughters. "Barack told me, 'We should have a third,' and I said, 'Oh!' And at that moment, I thought: 'I think I've been lucky with these two,'" Michelle shared.
