Carlos Alcaraz is opening up about some of the challenges he's faced in his career. In a new interview, Alcaraz is gearing up for the release of his Netflix docuseries, "Carlos Alcaraz: My Way," which grants an intimate look at the life of one of the world's youngest and most intriguing athletes. While discussing the experience, Alcaraz shed light on some of the challenges he's faced over the past year, including hitting "rock bottom" at the Miami Open.
© @netflixAlcaraz's documentary follows him for nine months of his life, including some of the biggest tournaments in the 2024-2025 tennis season. He also opened up about the challenges he's faced recently in his career, following an incredible winning streak that included tournaments like Wimbledon.
"It's an accumulation of everything," he said in Spanish to the publication Marca. "In Indian Wells, I thought it was playing well and was calm, but the loss with Draper hit me really hard. Then I got to Miami and the loss with Goffin was the straw that broke the camel's back. We had to stop, sit down, and see what was going on," said Alcaraz.
© Getty ImagesHe later agreed that that moment marked his "rock bottom," prompting him to rest and think of what was going on with his game and performance.
"That moment helped me a lot. I've learned to focus on what's important. There are a lot of things we care about that perhaps we shouldn't. I've said what is really important in tennis for me, and I'll continue to follow that line," he said.

Alcaraz's documentary will be available on Netflix on April 23rd of this year. The series follows the 21-year-old and his career, exploring his desire to be the best tennis player in the world as he balances the pressures of his everyday life.
"I would like to be the best tennis player in history," he says in the trailer. "It's my dream. But one of the key parts for me is to enjoy the ride."
