"Being a mother has been a masterclass in letting go. Try as we might, there's only so much we can control," the First Lady previously told British Vogue, while reflecting on the challenges of motherhood.

However, one of the most nerve-wracking moments Michelle experienced as a mother occurred when her daughter Sasha was involved in a frightening car accident, becoming a defining moment in her parenting journey.

Michelle explained that once Malia and Sasha had their driver's licenses, they were given a car, and the Secret Service agents who had long been a part of their lives began trailing them. "Once they [Sasha and Malia] got their license, we got a car for them. And then the agents ... they have to follow this teenager now to school, to parties," Michelle explained.

But despite the security measures, she revealed that the agents couldn't prevent everything. "One time Sasha got T-boned, literally her car totaled. Some lady T-boned her," she said, adding, "And you get this call that Sasha was in an accident, the car was totaled."

Despite the severity of the crash, Michelle remained grateful that Sasha was unharmed, but the experience was a reminder of how little control parents have as their children navigate life on the frightening incident, Michelle acknowledged that both her daughters have become skilled drivers over time, even under the watchful eyes of Secret Service agents.

Following the frightening incident, Michelle acknowledged that both her daughters have become skilled drivers over time, even under the watchful eyes of Secret Service agents.

Michelle shared a memorable story about Malia's early driving lessons on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.' "Her instructor put her in the car and said, 'Floor it ... Press the gas as hard as you can, and then I want you to stop,'" Michelle recalled with a laugh.
