The video was shared by Hemsworth, but was initially posted by his close friend and trainer Luke Zocco, who's often featured on some of Hemsworth's training and fitness videos.

The prank appears to have taken place in Hemsworth's home, showing two of his friends collaborating, with one of them recording the video and the other tying a fake snake to a string. After they pulled on the string, the realistic snake appeared to slither through the floor.

"Test run, test run," says one of Hemsworth's friends, showing the path of the snake, which looks incredibly lifelike. "Hopefully he comes through there," one of them says, showing the hallway.

A few seconds later, Hemsworth makes his appearance, walking through the house without suspecting anything.

He curses and jumps back as the fake snake slithers by, with his friends capturing his scared reaction. You can check out the full clip below.

Hemsworth's sense of humor

Chris Hemsworth's sense of humor is often displayed in videos and photos shared on his social media. Over the years, he's shared many moments of himself pranking his kids and his wife Elsa Pataky, including footage of him playfully throwing her in the snow and some playful comments he made on their way to the Oscars in 2024.

In a video shared by Pataky, Hemsworth is seen practicing the speech he was meant to give on the Oscars stage, where he introduced one of the awards.  "This year’s films nominated for best animated short come from across the globe,” says Hemsworth as he read notes from his phone. Pataky turned the camera to record Hemsworth’s words.

“And the winner is,” said Hemsworth, “Elsa Pataky! Congrats babe.” The moment prompted laughs from Pataky, who didn't expect the smooth transition.
