Each year, Antonela Roccuzzo surpasses her previous birthday celebrations. Last year, she threw two parties: one with a Disney princess theme and another headlined by DJ Bizarrap. This year, she chose a theme close to her heart—a Harry Potter-themed celebration for her 37th birthday. As Lionel Messi’s wife and a super fan of J.K. Rowling’s series, her deep-seated fandom has been uncovered. Moreover, the photo she shared revealed such details that it garnered a lot of attention.
Antonela captioned her birthday snapshot with three simple words, “Very happy birthday.” The image was rich in detail, showcasing the elaborate Harry Potter decorations she selected for the event. Every element was meticulously planned, from the Hogwarts castle backdrop to the shelf brimming with iconic items from the beloved series. At the top, a mandrake stands out, a plant used in the movies to make potions. When pulled from the ground, it emits an extremely loud scream, which can be lethal if heard for too long.
Suspended from the ceiling was a Golden Snitch, the famous golden ball with wings from the game of Quidditch. It flies at high speeds, and the player known as the “seeker” who catches it scores 150 points for their team and ends the match. In the series, Harry Potter is the seeker for the Gryffindor team. There are also Chocolate Frogs and flying keys, which appear in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone when Harry and his friends must face various challenges to reach the sorcerer’s stone.
A die-hard fan, Antonela included the famous Platform 9¾, the magical portal at London’s King’s Cross Station where Hogwarts students catch the Hogwarts Express. Additionally, the owls and the colors she chose, maroon and yellow, refer to Gryffindor house, one of the four houses at the magic school. This is the house to which Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Albus Dumbledore belong.
Antonela identifies with Gryffindor, and her love for magic goes back many years, to when she shared a photo of her first Harry Potter book: “This is my first Harry Potter book, it’s 20 years old and already yellow.”
Indeed, Antonela’s passion for Harry Potter is so deep that she has the Golden Snitch tattooed on her left arm. In June 2024, Antonela fulfilled one of her dreams by visiting the Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studios, Orlando.
Accompanied by her children Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro, she enjoyed days that she will forever cherish in her memory. They rode all the attractions, explored its corners, and took photos at the most iconic spots.
