Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness continue to move forward with their split. However, the pair have yet to file for divorce despite his new romance with actress Sutton Foster. The former couple was married for almost three decades but their love story came to an end in September 2023.
Now the 'Wolverine' actor is starting a new relationship with the 'Younger' star, as they were recently photographed having a romantic moment in Los Angeles, holding hands and having a casual conversation after their date night. They were also seen sharing a passionate kiss earlier this week. "They are in a relationship, and he is incredibly happy," a source told DailyMail.
"One of the biggest reasons why they haven’t yet filed is that they never had a prenup," an insider told the publication. "When they got married, they thought it would be forever. Who doesn’t? At the time, neither of them expected Hugh’s career to get as enormous as it has."
The insider explained that Hugh's fortune is involved. "Because there was no prenup, and he made a fortune during their marriage, this divorce is not going to be cut and dry. It may even get messy because the stakes are high," they explained. "A lot of moving parts need to be worked out and there is a huge amount of money involved."
"Hugh and Deborra-Lee are cordial to each other, but they are no longer friends," the insider said. "They put their differences aside to co-parent and he cares a lot about his children." The former couple own multiple properties in the United States and Australia following Hugh's success which is estimated to be around $200 million.
The source also said they intend to make the divorce settlement "as easy as possible," but after their longtime relationship and multiple assets, "it’s not quite that easy."
