The founder of Amazon quickly dismissed the buzz about his wedding to Sanchez, which was rumored to be set for Aspen, Colorado, during the holiday season. There was talk that the couple might have a lavish wedding costing hundreds of millions. However, the businessman shot down this rumor with a social media post on Sunday.

The latter suggested that Bezos and his fiancée were gearing up for an opulent wedding, allegedly slated for Saturday, December 28. This information spread rapidly, sparking comments of an over-the-top celebration at the well-known ski resort in the U.S. Bezos also targeted the media sources that falsely spread the marriage rumor.

In his response, Bezos highlighted the speed at which unfounded rumors can spread in today's digital landscape. “You know the saying, ‘don’t believe everything you read’? Well, it’s never been more relevant than it is now,” he mentioned. He also addressed the issue of fake news, stating, "Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there folks and don’t be gullible."
Once the news began to gain traction, fellow billionaire Bill Ackman weighed in on the credibility of the information, highlighting its significance. "This is not credible. Unless you are buying each of your guests a house, you can’t spend this much money." Responses flooded in regarding the post, with many questioning the feasibility of such extravagant weddings, especially after Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani spent an astonishing $600 million on his son's wedding this past July.
