Ivanka Trump and Hailey Bieber teamed up to support one of their friends and help him orchestrate the perfect proposal. Drew Taggart, one half of the DJ duo The Chainsmokers, proposed to his girlfriend Marianne Fonseca and got some help from some of her closest friends.
Trump was one of the people who helped Taggart out. Page Six reports that Fonseca had agreed to meet Trump at a restaurant to catch up and spend some time together. When she arrived, she saw that Taggart and Trump had banded together for a surprise.
Taggart had covered every surface of the restaurant with rose petals. A source said to the outlet that Trump “played the ultimate wingwoman, orchestrating the dinner" and keeping everything a secret.
Fonseca confirmed the story on her Instagram, saying that Trump "invited me to a girls' dinner with her."
“But when I got there, it was my love," she continued. "You guys got me so good.”
Hailey Bieber's involvement
Hailey Bieber was also involved in the proposal, with Taggart recruiting more of Fonseca's close friends to participate in the surprise.
“In addition to Ivanka orchestrating a clever girls' night diversion,” said the source to Page Six. “Drew enlisted the help of Marianne’s inner circle to make the engagement unforgettable.”
Bieber provided some key input, including helping Taggart choose an engagement ring that Fonseca would love.
“When it came to selecting the perfect ring — a stunning 5-carat elongated cushion-cut diamond — Drew asked what Marianne wanted," said the source. "The decision for the elongated stone came from Marianne’s good friend Hailey Bieber.”
Bieber showed her support in Fonseca's Instagram post, writing, "Yessssssssss," with various heart eye emojis.
Fonseca and Taggart were first linked together in May of last year, when they were spotted holding hands after leaving a party in Miami. The two are featured often on each other's Instagram pages, where they share plenty of photos of their adventures together.
In September of last year, Taggart released a song called "Summertime Friends," which he wrote for Fonseca.
"I think I knew then that we were supposed to be together," he wrote in an Instagram post, which had various photos of the two and a snippet of the then-unreleased song.
"Luckily I had the courage to ask for her number at the end of the night and luckily she was feeling open-minded."
