Premios Juventud brought entertainment to everyone‘s household despite the quarantine. Dubbed as the youngest night of the summer, Univision kicked off the two parts ceremony with PJ Takeover. Hosted live from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida by Dominican singer and rapper Amara La Negra, Nuestra Belleza Latina 2018 Migbelis Castellanos and Primer Impacto host Jomari Goyso, Premios Juventud 2020 makes history by being the first award ceremony celebrated during a pandemic.
To follow the CDC safety measures, both PJ Takeover and Premios Juventud decided to have a virtual audience and keep all the guests and hosts six feet apart.
During the takeover ceremony, Kimberly Guerra was recognized as the first “Agente de Cambio” of the night. Guerra dedicated her award to the LGBTQ community, to immigrants and the Black and Latinx community.
Kendo Kaponi took the stage to sing “Resistencia,” a reflective song about the COVID-19 pandemic, life battles, and dead; while Regional Mexican singer Neto Bernal dedicated his song ”Si Quieres” to all the healthcare workers.
Sebastián Yatra and Mau y Ricky presented the first award of the night to Natanael Cano for his song “Amor Tumbado” in the category Spicy Regional Songs (Regional Mexican songs with “spicy” lyrics).
© UnivisionTo the rhythm of “One World, One Prayer,” Camilo, Pedro Capó, Farruko, Kany García, and Skip Marley officially started Premios Juventud 2020. Pitbull aka Mr. Worldwide aka Mr. 305, brought the fire with his hit song ”I Believe That We Will Win.”
The second award of the night went to Karol G for her song “Tusa” featuring Nicky Minaj. The Colombian received the statuette from the hands of Reggaetón icon Ivy Queen and Dembow interpreter El Alfa. Karol G thanked her fans for voting and making her hit the winner of the category Can‘t Get Enough Of This Song (Songs you can’t stop singing).
© UnivisionWearing all red Natti Natasha performed “Que Mal Te Fue” and Camilo brought romanticism to the stage with his single ”Favorito.”
Cristian Castro surprised his fans with a medley of his hits “Cuando Vuelva la Vida,” ”Lloviendo Estrellas,” ”Por Amarte Así” and ”Azul.”
The third Premios Juventud was awarded to J Balvin for “Rojo” in the category Video With A Purpose (Video with best social messaging). J Balvin couldn‘t attend the ceremony and revealed he is recovering from coronavirus.
Natanael Cano looked back at his humble beginnings with his track “Arriba”, and Pitbull received the ”Agente de Cambio” award for his community work. The Cuban-American singer and producer dedicated the award to his childhood teacher Hope Martínez.
© UnivisionKarol G continued the party performing “Ay, DiOs Mío!” and Cali y El Dandee shared the stage with Sebastián Yatra to sing ”Locura.” Danna Paola later joined Yatra for ”No Bailes Sola.”
© UnivisionUrban music sensation Anuel AA performed “Hasta Que Dios Diga” and brought old school beats with his jam ”Reggaetonera.”
© UnivisionCNCO flaunted their basketball tricks and dancing moves while interpreting “Honey Boo” from the Magenta Studio.
Puerto Rican singer Rafa Pabón used the Premios Juventud platform to deliver a strong message against racism with his new single “Sin Aire.” The artist is part of “Conciencia Colectiva,” a campaign that seeks racial justice and supports the Black Lives Matter movement.
During the live ceremony, Becky G also received an “Agente de Cambio” award for always promoting the welfare of others and supporting charities. The Mexican descent actress and singer dedicated her accolade to Vanessa Guillen and invited to all eligible voters to make a change on November 3rd.
© UnivisionPremios Juventud honored a selective group of figures as “Everyday Heroes” including basketball player Bismack Biyombo for making an impact in his community. For his constant fight against discrimination, Ricky Martin received an ”Agente de Cambio” award and took the opportunity to ask fans to always replace hate with love.
© UnivisionThe most anticipated moment of the night started with “La Reina del Tex-Mex” herself. Premios Juventud paid tribute to Selena Quintanilla and celebrated 25 years of the musical legacy of the late singer. Danna Paola took the stage to sing ”Como Me Duele,” Natti Natasha performed ”Carcacha”, Ally Brooke sang ”Amor Prohibido” and Greeicy Rendón ”Baila Esta Cumbia” to later unify their voices for ”Fotos Y Recuerdos.”

© UnivisionFarruko sang to “La tóxica” and Ozuna took it to another level with ”Caramelo” and ”MAMACITA.” Mau y Ricky made the virtual audience dance to the rhythm of “Papás” while Jhay Cortez performed the censored version of ”Medusa”, ”Como Se Siente and “Dime a Ve.”
Natti Natasha presented the OMG Collaboration (Unexpected collaborations) award to Natanael Cano and Bad Bunny for “Soy el diablo (remix),” but immediately Gloria Trevi took us back to heaven with an angelic performance. The Mexican singer sang ”Demasiado Frágiles” from a breathtaking location.
Raw Alejandro showed us his moves while singing “Algo Mágico” alongside Camilo.
Ana Patricia Gámez, Francisca Lachapel, Borja Voces, Sebastián Yatra and Julissa Calderón, introduced a tribute the legendary singer Celia Cruz.
