2019 was the year of Latinos. We had everything from big wins to big celebrations to chart-topping music — Latinos came, saw and conquered.

Not only do we know this to be true, but there’s also proof in the pudding as well. Google released its Year In Search results and Latinos topped the lists in many categories, making Latinos everywhere super proud.

Check out below to see how Latinos did it por la cultura in 2019!

Kulture Kiari Cephus, daughter to rappers Cardi B and Offset , dominated headlines in 2019 and was the fifth most search baby (right after Baby Yoda).

David Big Papi Ortiz

The Dominican, former of the Boston Red Sox, was always known for his skill on the baseball field, was the third most searched athlete in 2019.

Unfortunately, in 2019 he made headlines for something much different. Big Papi (as fans lovingly call him) was fighting for his life after being shot in Santo Domingo in the D.R. Thankfully, all is well!

Mexico

The beautiful country of Mexico was the fifth most popular searched tourist destination. The country offers up delectable cuisine and rich history at every corner, making it no surprise for the steady building interest from the U.S.

The mini-series was the third most searched TV show of the year. The film, directed by Ava DuVernay, triggered discussions about the treatment of minorities communities within the judicial system.

Dominican-American Jharell Jerome was the breakout star of the film for his gut-wrenching portrayal of Korey Wise — winning an Emmy for Lead Actor in a Limited Series.
