Pamela Anderson just gave her famously fresh-faced beauty era a dramatic plot twist. The 59-year-old actor arrived at Vogue World 2026: Milano on September 22 with one of her boldest makeup looks in years, swapping the barely-there beauty aesthetic she has embraced since 2023 for smoky eyes, jet-black liner and glossy pink lips.
Anderson’s makeup-free red carpet appearances have become almost as recognizable as the bombshell beauty looks that defined the early years of her career. Still, this was not exactly a return to old-school Pamela Anderson glam. Her complexion remained natural and fresh, while the dramatic eye makeup provided the impact.

Pamela Anderson Wears Dramatic Makeup at Milan Fashion Week
For Vogue World: Milano, Anderson wore a shimmering gold Ferragamo gown with statement jewelry, including a chunky chain necklace, bracelet and ring. Her platinum blonde bob was styled in polished, side-swept curls with an Old Hollywood feel. But the makeup immediately commanded attention.

The beauty transformation was particularly noticeable because Anderson has spent the past several years intentionally moving away from the elaborate makeup associated with her earlier public image.

She added that she wanted “a little bit of Cleopatra inspiration, but modernized,” noting that the makeup would complement her Ferragamo look.

Anderson's move toward minimal makeup became a major fashion and beauty story during Paris Fashion Week in 2023. While attending shows including The Row, Vivienne Westwood and Victoria Beckham, she appeared with virtually nothing on her face beyond homemade rosehip oil. “I know I wasn’t making strides toward world peace, but I was making a statement,” Anderson told Vogue afterward.

Anderson told Vogue that she simply was not interested in spending hours sitting in a makeup chair and decided she would rather experience Paris. After attending her first event bare-faced, she continued going without makeup for the remainder of fashion week.
She also told ELLE in 2023 that the change felt “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too.”
There was also a deeply personal reason behind the transformation. Anderson's longtime makeup artist Alexis Vogel died from breast cancer. Anderson told ELLE that after losing Vogel, she felt it was better for her to stop wearing the signature makeup look they had created together.

She told Vogue in 2023 that she was not opposed to makeup. She simply was not interested in participating in the usual glam routine during that particular moment in Paris. And in a later interview with Allure, Anderson was even more explicit about it. “I love makeup, too,” she said while discussing her evolving approach to beauty.
