The Royal House of Denmark celebrated the future King's birthday with a tribute online, sharing some stunning photos of the future King. The portraits were taken in Amalienborg a few days earlier, showing Christian in different poses and wearing different outfits.

The Prince is seen wearing brown pants paired with a dark brown jacket and a Carhartt denim button-up. Another set of photos shows him wearing an elegant suit, smiling for the camera as he ties his tie. The suit is a navy one, paired with a light blue shirt and a red and brown tie.

"His Royal Highness the Crown Prince can celebrate his 20th birthday today, Wednesday," reads the post's caption, which was originally written in Danish.

"The day is marked by the publication of a new official portrait series of the birthday boy, photographed on and around Amalienborg. It is also possible to send your congratulations to the Crown Prince through the Royal House's social media throughout the day."

Prince Christian was born with the name Christian Valdemar Henri John, packed with references to his lineage and some of the previous Danish kings. Christian became the first Danish heir to attend a private school, breaking royal tradition.

Once he's crowned, Prince Christian will become Christian XI, following in the tradition of alternating between the names Frederik and Christian within the royal line.

Earlier this week, the Prince flew a fighter jet for the first time. In photos shared by The Royal House, the prince is seen wearing an all green camo outfit and looking proud as he's about to board an F-16.

The Prince wrote a message on the images, revealing that piloting one of these aircrafts had long been one of his dreams. "Today a boy's dream came true. I had the opportunity to get on one of the last training flights in an F-16 aircraft - and wow, it was crazy. Soon the new F-35s will take over, and I am very thankful that I made it. I already had great respect for the pilots who fly our fighter jets, and after today, it has only gotten bigger. It was a huge experience - and lovely that my dad stopped by Skrydstrup after today's flight."
