Queen Rania of Jordan has shared a rare new photo of her granddaughter Amina. On Wednesday, Her Majesty posted a snapshot of herself holding her seven-month-old grandchild, whose back was to the camera. "With my Amina," Rania simply wrote alongside the sweet picture.

Amina is the daughter of Rania's second child Princess Iman and her husband Jameel Alexander Thermiotis. The couple, who wed in 2023, welcomed their baby girl on Feb. 16 at the Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II Hospital in Aqaba

The baby was born less than a month after Rania revealed that her daughter and son-in-law were expecting their first child. The proud grandmother shared the news of Amina's birth on Instagram, writing: "My darling Iman is now a mother. We’re grateful and overjoyed to meet Amina, our family’s newest blessing. Congratulations Jameel and Iman – may God bless you and your precious little girl."

Amina is Queen Rania and King Abdullah II's second grandchild. Their first granddaughter, Princess Iman bint Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, who is Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa's first child, was born in August of 2024. Hussein celebrated the birth of his niece Amina with pictures on Instagram, including a photo of his daughter Iman meeting her little cousin. "‏Welcome to the family, Amina!" the Crown Prince captioned the pictures. "May you be a source of joy for your parents and a loving sister and lifelong companion to my daughter."

In the new photo with her granddaughter Amina, Rania appears to be wearing the same dress she wore on Sept. 23 to First Lady Melania Trump's Fostering the Future Together: A Global Coalition reception in New York City, where the United Nations General Assembly is underway.

Before any of her kids got married, the Queen of Jordan admitted that her goal was to one day be a "fun grandma." During a 2022 appearance on Good Morning America, Rania said, “I used to always say my favorite title is mama, but I think that’s going to quickly change” to the “Arabic word for grandma.”

“My goal is to be like fun grandma,” the Queen added. “We have a saying in Arabic that no person is dearer to us more than our children than our grandchildren. So I’m really excited to have babies in my life soon.”
