Princess Ariane of the Netherlands has received her diploma. Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander's 18-year-old daughter celebrated her achievement with the Dutch tradition of raising the national flag with a backpack.

The Dutch Royal House shared a video of the moment on Sunday, writing (translated to English): "🇳🇱 The flag is out at Palace Huis ten Bosch!Princess Ariane received her International Baccalaureate diploma from the United World College Adriatic on Sunday 6 July. Princess Ariane has spent the first four years of her high school time at the Christian Gymnasium Sorghvliet in The Hague. In the summer of 2023 she continued her education at United World College Adriatic in Italy."

Ariane graduated from UWC Adriatic this past May. Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander traveled to Italy to attend the ceremony. A picture of the proud parents and their graduate was shared by the Royal House at the time. "Princess Ariane has completed the exams for the International Baccalaureate at the United World College Adriatic," the post was captioned (translated to English). "Today the school marks the end of the exam period with the traditional Graduation and Academic Year Closing Ceremony. The results of the exams are expected at the beginning of July."

The Princess, who is third in line to the Dutch throne, began her studies at the school, located in the village of Duino, back in 2023. Ariane's older sister Princess Alexia previously studied at a UWC school: UWC Atlantic in Wales, which she graduated from in 2023.

During the Dutch royal family's annual summer photo session last month, Princess Catharina-Amalia remarked that her sister Ariane grew during her time in Italy. "Now she is suddenly a grown woman," the Princess of Orange said (translated to English), per AD. Meanwhile, Alexia described her little sister as "one of the sweetest girls" she knows, calling Ariane "so gentle and smart."

Ariane is the youngest of the Dutch King and Queen's children. The couple's eldest daughter, Princess Catharina-Amalia, 21, studies at the University of Amsterdam, while Their Majesties' second daughter Princess Alexia, 20, is a student at University College London.
