Ferrera stars in "The Lost Bus"

The film follows McConaughey and Ferrera as a school bus driver and a teacher, who put their lives in danger to save 22 kids from a fire that has overtaken a town in California. It's based on the book "Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire" by the journalist Lizzie Johnson, who documented the 2018 wildfire that wrecked the town of Paradise, California.

The fire resulted in 86 deaths and burned through 150,000 acres of land.

The trailer was shared earlier today, showing McConaughey in a starring role following a brief break from acting. He plays a troubled bus driver who's going through some struggles as a father. He's joined by Ferrera, who's on a mission to take the 22 students in her care to safety, away from a dangerous wildfire that has wreaked havoc on their town.

The trailer shows McConaughey jumping into action after he overhears on the radio that some kids are stranded in school. “Is there anybody that can go and pick these kids up?”

Through the teaser, McConaughey races to rescue his son, who's staying with his grandmother, with Ferrera supporting him and telling him that there's time to save him despite the growing fires. You can check it out in full below.
