It's time to charge up the flip-phone, dig out the fuzzy pens, and cue up some "Supermodel" by Jill Sobule because everyone's favorite Beverly Hills teen queen is totally making a comeback. Alicia Silverstone is officially reprising her iconic role as Cher Horowitz in a brand-new "Clueless" sequel series coming to Peacock.

The streaming's new "Clueless" project is being developed by the minds behind "Gossip Girl," Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, alongside "Dollface" creator Jordan Weiss. Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the original 1995 movie, is also in the mix as an executive producer, as is Alicia Silverstone herself.

If you are curious, this show has nothing to do with that scrapped 2020 reboot that centered on Dionne and left Cher out of the picture. This one is being described as a true follow-up to the OG movie that made Alaïa a household name and taught us all how to talk our way out of a bad grade.

Plot details are still under wraps, but the vibe is clear: Cher Horowitz is back where she belongs, front and center, being fabulous.

Alicia, now 48, shared the news on Instagram with a throwback photo and this gem of a caption: "Totally buggin'… in the best way 💁‍♀️✨"

Over the years, she's loved slipping back into her Clueless roots. From dressing up in that yellow plaid for Lip Sync Battle to hilariously recreating a scene with her son Bear on TikTok, she's been keeping the spirit of Cher alive.

Let's not forget her 2023 Super Bowl ad for Rakuten, where she brought back the full Cher fantasy. It was flawless, and so is this comeback.

A little Clueless refresher for the Gen Z crowd

Clueless hit theaters in 1995 and instantly cemented itself as a pop culture movement. Loosely based on Jane Austen's "Emma," the movie followed rich-but-sweet high schooler Cher Horowitz as she navigated love, friendship, and fashion in Beverly Hills. Her perfectly coordinated world was full of unforgettable characters, like BFF Dionne (Stacey Dash), skater boy Travis (Breckin Meyer), and the swoon-worthy Josh (Paul Rudd).

It also spawned a TV series, launched Alicia Silverstone into instant stardom, and basically became a blueprint for every fashionable teen heroine that followed.

What would Cher be like in 2025?

Alicia actually gave us a hint. During a sustainability panel in May 2024, she said that if Cher were shopping today, she'd still have her designer eye but with a conscience. "I think Cher is a lot like having a kid in that she'd want the thing that she wants, but then she has such a big heart that she'd want to do the right thing," she said.

So yeah, she'd still be fabulous, just more eco-conscious. She would probably swap her rotating closet for an app and donate last season's Prada to a good cause.

So, when is it coming?

There's no release date yet, but if we know anything about Cher, she will never leave us waiting too long. In the meantime, it might be time for a rewatch (or five) of the original movie and a refresher course in '90s slang.

Whether you grew up quoting "Ugh, as if!" or just discovered Cher's charm for the first time, this sequel series is shaping up to be the nostalgic fashion-fueled comeback we didn't know we needed but are so ready for.
