Tension within the Beckham family appears far from resolved, with Cruz Beckham now speaking out to defend his parents after a report claimed David and Victoria Beckham unfollowed their son, Brooklyn, on social media.
On Sunday morning, Cruz addressed the speculation directly on Instagram, shutting down the rumor by posting “NOT TRUE” alongside a screenshot of the report.
He went on to explain that his parents would never unfollow one of their children, adding that they actually “woke up blocked.” Cruz also revealed that he, too, had been blocked by Brooklyn, though it remains unclear when the three were removed from Brooklyn’s account.
“NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son,” the singer wrote on his Instagram Story. “Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I."
Back in September, sources with direct knowledge told TMZ that tensions between Brooklyn, his wife Nicola Peltz, and his famous parents were still extremely high, with no communication or efforts toward reconciliation. According to those sources, some family members were frustrated that David and Victoria hadn’t taken meaningful steps to repair the relationship.
In April, reports surfaced that Brooklyn, 26, was no longer speaking to his brother Romeo Beckham, 23, due to issues involving Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.
The situation reportedly worsened in May when Brooklyn and Nicola skipped David’s 50th birthday celebration.
By October, a source told Us Weekly that Brooklyn had “no interest” in reconciling with the Beckham family at that time.
An insider added that the personal chef was “really focused on living a peaceful, drama-free life” with the Lola actress, 30.
“They’ve built their own world together and are very content in it,” the source claimed. “They want to let things settle naturally rather than trying to fix something that still feels tense.”
That same source said Brooklyn remained out of contact with his parents, David and Victoria, 51, as well as his brothers Romeo and Cruz.
It was not disclosed whether Brooklyn has been in touch with his 14-year-old sister, Harper.
