Millie Bobby Brown is opening up about one of the most significant moments of her life. As she prepares for the release of the final season of "Stranger Things," Brown is opening up about her career, fame, her marriage to Jake Bongiovi, and her daughter, whom she welcomed earlier this year.
Brown was featured on the cover of British Vogue, addressing motherhood for the first time with the media. "It's been a beautiful, amazing journey — she's taught us so much already," she said.
"Perspective is a huge thing. The smaller things in life are so much more precious. Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It's just endless joy."
Brown also shared her and Bongiovi's parenting approach, and how smooth the experience has been thanks to having a partner that's been supporting all through the process. "We are 50-50 on everything. That's why I'm so grateful to have partnered with him in this life — he is just the most amazing dad," she said.
She also shared that she and Bongiovi are planning on having more children, while shedding a light at her decision to adopt. "I really want a big family — I'm one of four; he's one of four. I don't see having your own child, you know, as really any different [than] adopting," she said.
Brown and Bongiovi shared the news of their daughter on August of this year. The couple got married in May of last year, hosting a private ceremony in the US and a larger party in Italy.
Brown's desire to protect her daughter from the media
While Brown was comfortable in opening up about her journey as a mom, she made the decision to avoid sharing any details of her daughter or her personality. “For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” she said.
“It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly.”
Brown said that if her daughter chooses to share her story in the future, then she and Bongiovi would be in full support of her. “As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from [the spotlight],” she continued. She made it clear that her family has no plans of sharing the baby's name until “she’s ready to decide for herself.”
