out-of-this-world take

Kim Kardashian’s wild moon landing theory has fans scratching their heads

Even celebrities with access to the best information on Earth aren’t immune to conspiracy rabbit holes

Kim Kardashian is never short on headlines, but this one might just be her most out-of-this-world take yet. On the Oct. 30 episode of "The Kardashians," the 45-year-old reality star and business mogul revealed that she doesn’t believe the 1969 Moon landing actually happened, and she’s doubling down on it.

While filming Hulu’s "All’s Fair" alongside actress Sarah Paulson, Kim dropped her controversial claim mid-conversation, casually trying to sway her co-star into the same belief. “I’m sending you, so far, a million articles with both Buzz Aldrin and… the other one,” Kim told Paulson, referring to Neil Armstrong.

She continued, “[Aldrin] goes, ‘There was no scary moment, cause it didn’t happen. It could’ve been scary, but it wasn’t, cause it didn’t happen.’”

Paulson, clearly intrigued (or politely humoring her), replied, “Yes, do it,” as Kim insisted she had the proof to back it up. In her confessional, Kim didn’t hesitate to confirm her stance. “I don’t think we did. I think it was fake,” she said with total confidence, adding that she’s seen “a few videos of Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn’t happen.”

Kim’s Case for the Conspiracy

Kim went on to share her “evidence,” citing the same talking points that have fueled Moon landing skeptics for decades: “There’s no gravity on the moon — why is the flag blowing?” She is also asking why “the shoes in the museum don’t match the footprints in the photos," and “why are there no stars?”

To her, it all adds up to one thing: a staged production filmed on Earth, not a giant leap for mankind. “They’re gonna say I’m crazy no matter what,” Kim said, shrugging it off. “But like, go to TikTok. See for yourself.”

The Internet Reacts (Predictably)

As expected, social media lit up faster than a rocket launch. Some fans found Kim’s comments hilarious (“Someone get her a telescope!” one X user joked), while others worried about the influence her platform carries.

With over 300 million followers across her accounts, a single eyebrow-raising statement from Kim can turn into a viral debate overnight.

Skeptics flooded threads with scientific rebuttals, sharing NASA footage, physics explanations, and even Buzz Aldrin interviews debunking the “flag blowing” myth. Meanwhile, die-hard conspiracy enthusiasts welcomed Kim with open arms, calling her “awake” and “one of us now.”

Sarah Paulson’s Response: The Calm in the Chaos

Sarah Paulson handled the moment like a true professional, amused but not buying in too quickly. “I’m going to go on a massive deep dive,” she said, giving Kim the validation she clearly wanted, while probably planning to fact-check every claim the second filming wrapped.

Behind the scenes, producers were just as curious, pressing Kim to confirm she truly believed it. Her answer left no wiggle room: she’s all-in on the idea that Apollo 11 was a hoax.

Whether you roll your eyes or secretly Google “Buzz Aldrin Moon landing interview,” this episode reveals something bigger about the cultural moment we’re in. The internet has made everyone an investigator, and even celebrities, with access to the best information on Earth, aren’t immune to conspiracy rabbit holes.

Kim Kardashian might not believe we ever touched the Moon, but she knows exactly how to launch a conversation. Whether she’s trolling, teasing, or totally sincere, she’s once again mastered the art of keeping the world talking.
