Sophie Turner has no intentions of returning to life in the United States anytime soon.
After her 2023 split from ex-husband Joe Jonas, the Game of Thrones star left America behind and made the move back to her home country of England—a decision she has no regrets about. She spoke about the decision to move back home during a recent interview, elaborating on her decision and why it's helped her feel so at peace.
“I just feel so at home here,” Sophie shared in an interview with Flaunt published on August 22. “I never want to move again.”
The actress—who shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with the Jonas Brothers musician—explained how living abroad reshaped her view of what truly matters. In a nutshell, Turner's sentiments emphasize the idea that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
“Living in the States, I didn’t appreciate how much you need friends and family and how integral they are to your wellness until you’re away from them,” she told the publication. “I came back with an abundance of appreciation for them.”
Sophie and Joe’s divorce initially led to a highly publicized custody battle, which was resolved by an agreement in October 2023. Reflecting on that difficult chapter, Sophie later admitted she had mixed feelings about how it unfolded.
“I'm unhappy with the way everything played out, especially when it comes to my children," the actress told British Vogue in May 2024. "They're the victims in all of this. But I think we're doing the best we can. I'm confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children and that's all that I can ask for.”
In the years since their tumultuous split, things seem to be a lot better between the exes and coparents. Joe has also spoken positively about their shared approach to parenting, expressing appreciation for their continued efforts to co-parent effectively.
“I have a beautiful coparenting relationship that I'm really grateful for,” he said during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose Live Tour in May. “Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.”
