Salma Hayek is a big animal lover. Over the years, the Mexican actress and producer has shared stories of the many animals she's rescued in places all over the world, whether she's traveling, working, or passing through the area. In a new post on Instagram, Hayek shared a look at her three chickens, showing a glimpse of their sassy attitude.
The clip shows Hayek sitting down on the floor, with three chickens surrounding her. She's wearing white pants, a pink shirt, and a flannel, and is seen looking comfortable, wearing some reading glasses and with her hair styled loose.
As she sits with her legs crossed, she throws some food to the chickens, who get closer and closer. "These girls are bullying me," she says.
Through the short clip, she addresses all of her chickens individually. "I know you're more shy," she says to one, throwing the food closer to her. "What did I say?" she asks another chicken, who's seen leaving a quick peck on her pants. "That's not the part you're supposed to be eating."
"Oh my God, she's being so bad," she says at the end.
Hayek's love of animals
Over the years, Hayek has opened up about her love of animals and her propensity for rescuing any one that looks like it needs her.
In a 2016 appearance on "The Graham Norton Show," Hayek shared the hilarious story of how she rescued a dog she called Ochoa, which tested her husband's limits.
"I was terrified. How am I gonna explain this to my husband?" she shared on the show. She came up with an elaborate ruse to make her husband feel better once she revealed that she had rescued a dog. "So I came up with this brilliant idea to pretend that I was having an affair," she said, prompting laughter from the audience.
Hayek revealed that the two talked on the phone, with her setting up a dramatic story. "Listen to me, I feel terrible, I don't know how to say this," she recounted. Ultimately, her husband knew her so well that he knew instantly that she had adopted a dog.
