"For endless reasons, Diego Luna is one of the most influential people in my life. I would say that he is on this list for the same reasons," Gael wrote for the publication. "I feel grateful that as a friend and a member of the audience, I’ve been able to experience his journey, his questioning, his profound search for something that makes everything better for everyone."

Meanwhile, Claudia Sheinbaum, who made history as the first woman president of Mexico,  was celebrated in the leaders category for her transformative role in Mexican politics, representing a symbol of change and progress in the nation.

"She likes to be called Presidenta, with an a at the end. She made history in 2024 by becoming the first woman to lead Mexico," Jorge Ramos wrote for the publication. "She has a self-described “cool head” leadership style, and her approach to cross-border negotiations seems to have won some grudging respect from her American counterpart."

In her response to the honor, Sheinbaum humbly stated that the recognition was not hers alone but rather for the people of Mexico. Her presidency marks a new era in Mexico’s political landscape.

Both Luna and Sheinbaum are an example of the influence of Mexican culture and leadership on the world stage.
