It's been twenty years since President Donald Trump married First Lady Melania Trump. The 47th President of the United States celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday with a post on his social media accounts. "Happy 20th Anniversary to Melania!" he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). The president's post was accompanied by a photo of the first couple walking hand-in-hand on their wedding day.
In a post from the @POTUS X account, the president penned, "Celebrating 20 years with my beautiful wife and our incredible First Lady, Melania. You're an extraordinary wife and a wonderful mother. Happy Anniversary, @FLOTUS !"
Their anniversary came two days after the president took the oath of office inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. Melania married Donald on Jan. 22, 2005 in Palm Beach, Florida, wearing a Christian Dior gown. Kelly Ripa, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell and Bill and Hillary Clinton were among the guests, per The Palm Beach Post. The first lady called her wedding "a beautiful affair" in a video promoting her memoir last year.
“From the moment Donald and I met, there was an undeniable spark," the first lady said in the video. "There was something magnetic about him, his confidence, his charm, his humor, his vision. Our wedding was a beautiful affair. A breathtaking gown, a perfectly created menu by our celebrated chef, and captivating live performances by music legends."
During an interview with Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt last year, Melania was asked what she loves most about her husband. "His being. His humor. His personality. His kindness," she answered.
"He's very special," Melania continued. "His positivity. His energy. It's unbelievable. Yeah, so we have a beautiful relationship."
The first lady and the president welcomed their first child together, son Barron Trump, in 2006. "I was always perfectly fine with one. And Donald was encouraging to have more," Melania told Ainsley. "And I said, like, 'I'm completely fine with one because it's [a] very busy life and I know how busy he is, and I'm in charge of everything, so that's why."
"It's just perfect," the mom of one added.
The president, 78, has four older children from his previous marriages. He has three kids, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump, from his first marriage to Ivana Trump, and one child, daughter Tiffany Trump, from his second marriage to Marla Maples.
