Axel Emilio Vásquez Constanza, a talented Guatemalan makeup artist and hairstylist, has garnered significant attention beyond the Hispanic community for his impressive career in the United States. Most notably, he was part of the team responsible for styling members of Donald Trump’s family—including his children and ex-wife—during the activities surrounding Inauguration Day, where the elected president and vice president were sworn into office.

 A Star-Studded Career

Vásquez’s journey in the beauty industry spans over 15 years, during which he has collaborated with a variety of renowned personalities. His portfolio includes working with global stars like Colombian singer Karol G, and many beauty queens and models. His talents have also taken him to major events such as New York Fashion Week and DC Swim Week, where he showcased his exceptional skills in makeup artistry and hairstyling.

After moving to the United States at the age of 15, Vásquez honed his craft and built a successful career that extends beyond working with celebrities. He founded his own brand, AXELBEAUTY, and launched Axel Makeup Academy in Tysons, Virginia, where he trains aspiring makeup artists.

A Historic Opportunity

In 2019, Vásquez gained further recognition when he competed in Season 2 of "American Beauty Star" on Lifetime TV. As one of the top three finalists, he demonstrated his creativity and expertise on a national stage, solidifying his reputation in the beauty industry.

However, one of the most defining moments of his career came when he joined the team responsible for styling the Trump family during the Inauguration Day events. According to the TV show "Primer Impacto," Vásquez and his team styled Tiffany Trump, Eric Trump, and Marla Maples, Tiffany’s mother and Donald Trump’s ex-wife.

In a photo shared on social media, Vásquez reflected on the experience, describing it as an incredible and unexpected opportunity. He revealed that his involvement began with a call from his mentor, Scott Barnes—a renowned celebrity makeup artist—who invited him to join the team for this prestigious event. Vásquez expressed immense pride in being part of such a historic occasion and representing Guatemala and the Latino community on an international stage.

A Source of Pride for Guatemala

Through his work, Vásquez has become an inspiration for many in his home country and the broader Hispanic community. By sharing a photo on social media alongside Scott Barnes, Tiffany Trump, and Marla Maples, Vásquez highlighted the significance of his achievements. "An unforgettable moment in my career working alongside the legendary @scottbarnescosmetics as we glammed up @tiffanytrump for the inauguration weekend. Feeling so grateful for these opportunities and the chance to create magic together," he wrote, adding: "Thank you, Scott, for choosing me to work with you on this special occasion!" he captioned the image.

Fans flooded the comments section by writing: "Fabulous job! Congratulations on all of your hard work! They looked fantastic." With another person adding, "So proud of your accomplishments. So happy seeing your work during the inauguration. Woo Hoo!"

According to the beauty expert, he spent four days working with the Trump family. "I'm still trying to digest this experience," he said during a Livestream video on Instagram. "So many emotions. I was a little nervous."

Axel Vásquez also assured that he doesn't pick sides in disputes, emphasizing that he simply do his work witout being biased.  "I'm a neutral person," he said. "For me this was more an opportunity and take advantage of how historical this is."

Axel said he gave the best of him to leave a mark and represent the Latino community with class and dignity.
