Kanye West and his 11-year-old daughter, North West, may soon be battling it out on the charts. The 47-year-old controversial hitmaker has been back in the studio making beats for his upcoming project BULLY, and her debut album, Elementary School Dropout. On January 20, he shared some photos and videos of North, explaining in the caption of one of them, "This little girl made me love music again."
According to Kanye, North, who he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, has been motivated to pursue music. "She asked me to make beats for her I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beat with my bare hand for BULLY," he wrote.
The "Runaway" singer also shared a video of her in front of a small keyboard as one of the tracks plays in the background. "Training," he wrote in the caption.
Ye has had a complicated relationship with social media and was even suspended two years ago because of antisemitic posts. But things have gotten a little more wholesome with the "Golddigger" singer when it comes to his children.
North's debut album
When North was 10, she announced her debut album was on the way at Ye’s Vultures listening party in Phoenix on March 10 after she hit the stage with him for their track “TALKING.” “And I’ve been working on my first album,” she told the crowd with roaring applause. “It’s called ‘Elementary School Dropout.'" The announcement had some parents upset that she would influence kids to drop out of school.
North’s title is a homage to her dad’s debut studio album released on February 10, 2004, The College Dropout. It was a commercial success, debuting at number 2 on Billboard Hot 200, winning Best R&B Song for “You Don’t Know My Name,” Best Rap Song for “Jesus Walks” and Best Rap Album at the 2005 Grammy Awards.
Kanye, who now goes by Ye, has been supporting his mini-me's budding music career since she could speak. North famously performed at the Yeezy Season 8 presentation in Paris during Paris Fashion Week when she was only 6.
