Ivanka Trump is ready to support her father. The former First Daughter was recently featured on a podcast, where she discussed Donald Trump's incoming presidency and how she'll be supporting him. Unlike Trump's first term, where his daughter served as one of his key advisors, Ivanka revealed that she'd be steering clear of politics this time around, supporting her dad in other ways.

Ivanka Trump is keeping her distance from politics

Ivanka was featured on "The Skinny Confidential" podcast, discussing her childhood, her ambitions, and her dad's presidency. When discussing politics, Ivanka shared her disillusioned perspective on the matter, revealing that while she loves enacting change in the world, she "hates" politics.

“I love policy and impact. I hate politics and unfortunately, the two are not separable,” she said. “There’s a darkness in that world that I don’t really want to welcome into mine.”

Ivanka also discussed her father's job and shared that she considered it "the world's loneliest position."

“The enormity of the decisions you’re making on a daily basis, how transactional everyone is with you… it’s a very lonely perch," she said.

How Ivanka will be supporting her father

Despite her misgivings about the role of president and politics in general, Ivanka seemed excited over her dad's achievements and the upcoming four years. She revealed that she'd be supporting Trump from her home in Florida in different ways than during his first term when he was a newcomer to the position.

“We were like the Pioneers," said Ivanka of her dad's first term. "Nobody really knew what to do with him as a political figure."

Now that things have changed and he has many advisors, Ivanka can take a backseat and support Trump as a confidant. “I’m most looking forward to just being able to show up for him as a daughter,” she said.

“To take his mind off things and watch a movie with him or watch a sports game, to know that he can be with me and be himself and just relax.”
