Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner spent their Christmas together. The pair, who share three kids together, have been enjoying the holiday season, prioritizing their kids and their future memories.
According to a source, Garner needs to celebrate the holidays with family, as she did throughout her entire family.
"Jen and Ben were all together for Christmas. It's all for the kids,” said the source to PEOPLE. “Jen grew up surrounded by her family for the holidays, and she wants the same for her kids."
The pair have spent a large chunk of their holiday season together, including their Thanksgiving, when they spent part of their holiday helping out the homeless population in Los Angeles alongside their children: Violet, Fin, and Samuel.
“They truly enjoy giving back to their community and cherishing quality time together as a family,” said a source to PEOPLE.
Affleck and Garner are happy to be with their eldest daughter again
The past year has been full of changes for Affleck and Garner, including the departure of their eldest daughter Violet, who's studying her freshman year of college at Yale University.
According to various outlets, the pair are happy to have their eldest daughter back from her winter break and want to spend as much time together as possible. “Ben … is excited to have Violet home [from Yale University] for break,” said a source to Page Six.
Violet has a great relationship with Jennifer Lopez, with the two spending plenty of time together throughout Lopez's marriage to Affleck.
Earlier this year, Lopez's sister Lynda stopped by Yale to visit Violet. The two shared a selfie on Lynda's Instagram, showing them huddled together for a selfie with the stunning backdrop of the school.
"Violet has a strong attachment to J.Lo and her family," said a source to The Daily Mail. "It’s quite confusing to Ben and Jen [Garner] because they do not understand why Violet is so adamant on keeping her close."
