Lauren Sanchez and Eva Mendes are supporting each other's work. Over the past year, both women have published children's books, with each one being inspired by their childhoods and the message they wish to share with the world.
In a new Instagram story, Mendes shared a video of herself picking up a copy of her book "Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries" while also grabbing a copy of Sanchez's book, "The Fly Who Flew to Space."
The clip shows Mendes walking while holding onto her book. "This will never get old," she says with a laugh.
She pauses and shows off her book haul to the camera, showing some of the titles she took home, including Sanchez's book. "I picked up Desi, Mami and the Never-Ending Worries and Lauren Sanchez's kids' book as well as some interior design books."
"Kids and home decor - my two fave subjects," she wrote.
Sanchez reshared the story on her Instagram stories, adding a couple of heart emojis.
A previous story of Mendes shows her book's cover, which features a mother and a daughter hugging while the moon can be glimpsed in the background. "Being this grateful to see my book in a store will never get old!"
she wrote in the post. "Thank you GM for all your support."
Sanchez's book explores personal topics
While Lauren Sanchez's book is about a fly that goes to space, it's also a deeply personal story and achievement for Sanchez, who's discussed her experiences with dyslexia.
"Never in a million years did I think a dyslexic kid from Albuquerque would ever be an author," she said in an interview with PEOPLE.
"I'm so humbled by it, and I'm so thrilled my kids get to see me do this because they encouraged me to write this for years and I finally made it happen."
"The journey wasn't easy, but I'm really excited for people to meet Flynn the fly."
