Meghan Markle has broken her silence on her viral dancing video. Earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex shared a throwback video from the day her daughter Princess Lilibet was born, showing her dancing and twerking to "The Baby Momma Dance" in a hospital room. Alongside the clip, which also featured Prince Harry, the mom of two wrote: "Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work - there was only one thing left to do! 😂." The As ever founder spoke about the headline-making video while discussing authenticity on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast.

"You have to be authentic," Meghan said, before asking with a laugh, "Did you see my 'Baby Momma' dance?"

Emma admitted that she watched it "like 20 times" the other day. The podcast host recalled, "I was like, is that, is that her? Is that Prince Harry there with the fingers? I was like, okay. Okay. Good on Harry. Let's go. But that's you, right? Like that's you in a way that we kind of haven't been able to see you before."

“And I did like a little secret cheer, cause I was like, well, that's what I kind of want to see from you," Emma continued. "Like I wanna see that happiness and that honesty and that like 'I don't give a f---’ kind of thing.”

Meghan pointed out that the video was from four years ago. "So it's also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still a whole life, a real, authentic, fun life, that's happening behind the scenes," the Duchess said, adding, "I'm just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.”

The Duchess had a personal Instagram account prior to marrying into the British royal family. In January of 2018, Kensington Palace stated (via  HELLO!) that Meghan was “grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years,” but made the decision to close them “as she has not used these accounts for some time.”

The With Love, Meghan star, who is no longer a working member of the royal family, launched a new personal account, @Meghan, this past New Year's Day. The Duchess told Emma that social media does not feel “like a drag,” but rather, “liberating." "I think for me it was a great way to get my voice back," Meghan said of her personal account. "Get my voice back... It's my space and my channel for joy. That is the intention of my handle."
