Princess Caroline's daughters both share a love for literature. Charlotte Casiraghi, 38, has admitted in the past that she is “addicted to books."

"I've always loved books, even before I knew how to read," she told Madame Figaro (translated to English) in 2020. "I remember a memory with my mother very clearly: we were on a plane, I had in my hand an old edition of one of your books that I was holding upside down to make it look like I was reading."

In 2021, Chanel created the Literary Rendezvous at  Rue Cambon, imagined with Charlotte, who is an ambassador and spokesperson for the French fashion house. Discussing the Literary Rendezvous in an interview published by Alain Elkann Interviews in 2023, Charlotte shared: "It started from my intimate relationship with Karl Lagerfeld, which was around books. Karl always encouraged my passion for books, and we had very deep conversations about our love for literature and philosophy."

"When Virginie Viard became the new Chanel Creative Director she asked me to think about a cultural project that could be meaningful and special, and I immediately thought about doing something around literature," she continued. "It was a way for me to encourage an homage to Karl and to that very strong link we shared."

Charlotte has previously admitted that going into a bookshop is like going "into a sweet shop" for her. "I want to buy everything, to take as many books as I can carry. And I can never decide which book I'm going to read, so I take more and more," she said in a 2021 Chanel YouTube video. "I never feel guilty about it, because I tell myself it's not so bad to be addicted to books. And as a result, I read a lot of books at the same time."

Charlotte's younger sister Princess Alexandra of Hanover opened up about her own passion for literature in a new interview with Elle España. The 25 year old, who graduated with a master's degree in history and literature from Columbia University in Paris last year, told the outlet, "When I started my studies, I was looking for something serious that would give me a better understanding of the world, so I opted for political science and philosophy. However, during my studies, I realized that my true passion was literature, and I discovered that you learn so much about life through fiction... and perhaps in a much more enjoyable way!"

The Princess also shared that when it comes to her career path, she would "love to dedicate" herself to literature. She admitted, "I have some ideas and projects in mind, although I feel it's still too early to talk about them."

Alexandra is the daughter of Princess Caroline and Prince Ernst August. She is Caroline's youngest child. Charlotte, as well as Andrea Casiraghi and Pierre Casiraghi are Caroline's children from her second marriage to Stefano Casiraghi, who died in 1990. Alexandra has two additional brothers, Prince Ernst August and Prince Christian, on her father's side.

"I feel very close to them, and they're some of the most important relationships in my life," she said of her siblings in her interview with Elle España. "Growing up with a lot of older siblings has been very interesting, as has watching them grow and see how they've gone through different stages of their lives. I feel very fortunate because, with them, their partners and families have come along, and I have great relationships with all of them. That's made the process of growing up less intimidating. Watching them move out, start homes, and raise their children has made the future less scary, I guess."
