The 2025 Fashion Trust Arabia Awards, held at the National Museum of Qatar, have once again confirmed their status as one of the most influential gatherings in international fashion.

The seventh edition brought together major industry figures. From Lifetime Achievement Award honouree Miuccia Prada to Anna Wintour, Daniel Roseberry, Gisele Bündchen, and Tyra Banks, for an evening that celebrated emerging talent and strengthened Doha’s position as a dynamic creative hub.

To complement such a clean, pared-back look, Georgina chose diamond jewelry by Messika.

In this exceptional setting, Georgina Rodríguez, one of the night’s most high-profile guests, stole the spotlight with a look that breaks entirely from her usual maximalism and featured a vintage Azzedine Alaïa dress from 1993, a historic piece that has become, without a doubt, the most elegant and unexpected look she has worn to date.

Far from the opulent and exuberant aesthetic that usually defines her style, Georgina embraced the power of “less is more.” Her choice was a long black chenille-knit dress from Alaïa’s Fall/Winter 1993 collection, created by one of the designers who best understood the female body in the 1990s.

The piece was fitted, fluid, and finished with a houpette train, showcasing the Tunisian couturier’s mastery and his talent for transforming simplicity into a form of sophisticated seduction. Its fabric, cut, and drape remind us why Alaïa was, and still is, an undisputed reference for sensual minimalism. Georgina herself shared on Instagram how special it felt to wear the design.

Special mention goes to Georgina's engagement ring, a piece so striking it’s impossible to overlook

Special mention goes to her engagement ring, a piece so striking it’s impossible to overlook, and now a signature element in all her public appearances.

For her beauty look, the Spaniard opted for understated makeup, defined glossy lips, and a polished, clean-look updo. It was a perfectly curated ensemble designed to enhance the dress without overshadowing it.

Her choice of an archival design is no coincidence. Fashion is living through a period deeply marked by nostalgia, collections revisiting codes from the ’90s and 2000s, reissues, reinterpretations, and a growing fascination with vintage pieces as expressions of luxury, authenticity, and cultural awareness.

By choosing an original 1993 Alaïa, Georgina joins a trend embraced by many red-carpet celebrities, reviving historic garments that blend beauty, exclusivity, and storytelling. Wearing a vintage Alaïa not only pays tribute to one of fashion’s great visionaries but also adds a sophisticated narrative to her public image, more mature and more attuned to fashion as cultural heritage.

Georgina’s presence added to an evening celebrating the most promising designers of the Arab world. The awards recognised creators such as Ziyad Albuainain, Youssef Drissi, Leila Roukni, Farah Radwan, and Alaa Alaradi, and presented the Guest Country Award to Kartik Kumra, representing India.

Under the honorary presidency of Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and with Queen Latifah as one of the hosts, the gala unfolded in a vibrant atmosphere that concluded with a live performance by Saint Levant.
