Camila Cabello made a dramatic entrance at Carlos Eric Lopez’s fifth annual Día De Muertos Gala in Los Angeles on Thursday night, turning heads in a breathtaking gothic-inspired gown that perfectly captured the spirit of the occasion.

The 28-year-old singer, known for her blend of soulful pop and Latin flair, embraced the evening’s theme with an elegant yet edgy twist, a strapless black figure-hugging gown paired with a timeless pearl choker. The look radiated classic Hollywood glamour infused with dark romantic undertones, perfectly in sync with the Día De Muertos celebration of love, legacy, and remembrance.

In one of the evening’s most touching moments, Camila presented the Abuelita Award to her grandmother, a symbolic recognition of the immense role she played in shaping Camila’s identity and artistic journey.

“I’m so proud of where I come from,” Camila has often said in interviews, and Thursday night’s appearance proved that sentiment. The Día De Muertos Gala, a celebration of life and memory, shines a light on Latino artists and trailblazers who continue to elevate culture, art, and community on a global stage.

A Celebration of Legacy

The annual event, hosted in partnership with the Hispanic Federation, honors tradition while investing in the future. This year’s gala announced a series of student grants for Los Angeles–based college creatives pursuing artistic dreams, a move that underscores the event’s mission to nurture the next generation of Latino talent.

Founder Carlos Eric Lopez shared his pride in bringing the community together, saying, “During this time, I am humbled to bring our Latino communities together to share their stories and support one another on this sacred holiday. We are stronger together.”

He also reflected on the significance of honoring matriarchs like Camila’s grandmother, adding, “Our grandmothers are the heart of our families, the storytellers, the caretakers, and the keepers of our traditions.”

A Touching Full-Circle Moment

Camila’s emotional tribute to her family echoed the heartfelt performance that captured hearts worldwide in 2020, when she performed "First Man," a song dedicated to her father Alejandro, at the Grammys. During that performance, she serenaded him directly as touching home videos of their life together played in the background.
