At the 21st Zurich Film Festival, Dakota Johnson once again stole the show with a bold and breathtaking look. This time, in a sapphire blue Gucci gown featuring a sheer lace bodice that perfectly balanced daring with elegance.
The actress, honored with the festival’s Golden Eye award for career achievement, made a stunning entrance on the opening green carpet, proving she’s mastered the art of the “naked dress.”
Johnson’s custom gown, designed under Demna’s creative direction at Gucci, showcased a high neckline and long sleeves crafted from delicate, see-through lace.
This semi-sheer bodice was contrasted by a voluminous drop-waist skirt that bloomed in layers, adding dramatic texture and shape to the ensemble.
Paired with statement diamond earrings and bold rings from Roberto Coin, where Johnson was named a global ambassador earlier this year, the look was styled by Kate Young, the fashion mind behind many of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
Completing the Zurich look, Johnson’s hair fell in loose waves with wispy bangs, while subtle black liner accentuated her piercing blue eyes. A rosy blush and glossy pink lip rounded out the polished, yet effortless makeup.
This isn’t Johnson’s first sheer spectacle of 2025. Earlier in September, she turned heads in an ink-black sheer Gucci gown at the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner in New York, while in May, she dazzled Cannes in a shimmering silver see-through Gucci halter gown. Her fearless approach to revealing fashion continues to define her red-carpet style.
Roberto Coin’s founder expressed admiration for Johnson, saying, “Dakota Johnson is a true original. I love her expressions, an artist with authenticity, depth and a unique ability to connect. We are proud to welcome her to the Roberto Coin family and to collaborate on a campaign that speaks to the heart of who we are.”
Adding, “With Dakota, we’re evolving, not just showcasing jewelry, but aligning with a voice and personality that resonates more deeply with today’s luxury consumer.”
Beyond fashion, Johnson was celebrated for her role in the rom-com 'Splitsville,' which premiered at the festival. The film explores the complexities of open relationships, divorce, and dating, starring Johnson alongside Adria Arjona, Michael Covino, and Kyle Marvin.
