Harry Styles continues his short shorts era. The singer was spotted over the weekend running errands through London, showing off his toned physique and signature look, rocking a pair of bright red sports shorts, following the now-international short shorts trend, popularized by Paul Mescal, despite the actor not taking credit for it.
Harry paired his red shorts with a black sweater, oversized sunglasses, and a purple baseball cap. He showed off yellow suede trainers that added a pop of color to the ensemble, including a yellow tote bag from the David Hockney exhibition at London’s National Gallery.
This is not the first time he has rocked the shorts and long-sleeve combo, as he has been seen around Rome, Italy, wearing variations of the same outfit. Originally pushed into pop culture by Paul, the short shorts are now worn by many celebs, especially as summertime approaches.
“I don’t think I’m responsible,” Paul said to Variety in November 2024, pointing to the Gaelic footballers of Ireland. Before his London outing, Harry made headlines in Rome, where fans spotted him in attendance when the Vatican announced the election of Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope.
Blending in with the crowd, the singer wore a blue coat, a grey cap that read “Techno is my boyfriend,” and his signature dark shades. Fans of the musician have been wondering about his time in Italy, as he has been seen around the city for months.
“The happiest and most special moments of my life have been in Italy,” he told fans during a show in Bologna in 2022. Following the conclusion of his record-breaking in July 2023, he disappeared from the spotlight and was reportedly spending most of his time at the storybook village of Civita di Bagnoregio.
