Bella Hadid continues to cement her place in the vintage fashion hall of fame. The 27-year-old supermodel stepped out in London wearing one of the most memorable red carpet looks of the 1990s, Milla Jovovich’s dazzling chainmail dress, worn at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival.
On Friday, while promoting her Orebella fragrance launch in the UK, Bella stunned in the same silver John Galliano creation worn nearly three decades ago by Jovovich.
The metallic gown, first debuted on the runway by model Hedvig Marie Maigre, was famously worn by Jovovich at the 50th annual Cannes premiere of 'The Fifth Element.'
Bella turned heads with the jaw-dropping look, featuring a plunging V-neckline, asymmetrical hem, and delicate rosette detailing. Bella completed the look with a diamond necklace matching drop earrings, and Jimmy Choo lace-up kitten heels.
Back in 1997, Jovovich let the piece shine solo with minimal accessories and the exact wraparound sandals featured in Galliano’s original runway show.
Meanwhile, Bella added a modern twist with statement jewelry by Chopard. The supermodel styled her blonde hair in a slicked-back bun and a glamorous makeup look.
Before traveling to the UK, Bella stole the show at the Cannes Film Festival with multiple looks, following the updated dress code at the highly anticipated event.
The supermodel began her fashion streak at Cannes before the red carpet. On May 12, she arrived in the Riviera wearing a structured white Dolce & Gabbana bustier top paired with matching jeans, tan slingbacks, and caramel-toned accessories.
For the red carpet, Bella wore a sleek black cowlneck Saint Laurent dress, following the strict “no naked dress” rule at the festival. Her ensemble featured a hip-high slit, exposed sides, and an asymmetrical cross back, paired with Saint Laurent's rhinestone-encrusted heels.
Bella completed the look with stunning pieces of jewelry, including 118.68-carat emerald earrings and a 12.15-carat heart-shaped diamond ring.
