During a recent social media livestream, Lysglimt-Rødland expressed disappointment over what she described as a lack of transparency in the competition. “Miss Universe had already picked out their top 10 before the finals, like 15 days before. So, we were all really disappointed when we hear that," she said.

She continued, "We thought, what is the point of competition if [the] Miss Universe organization had already made up their mind,” she said, adding, “It was true as well.”

“She had done it incredibly well. I told her I was really happy, and just before the final results, I said to her, ‘Whoever goes to the top invites the other to vacation in their country.’ So a trip to Mexico is now pending.”
