Thousands gathered in Madrid’s Plaza de Colón on Sunday morning to witness a moment that will be remembered as one of the most vibrant cultural highlights of the year: Gloria Estefan headlining the main concert of Hispanidad 2025.

The Cuban-American icon delivered a two-hour celebration of music, heritage, and unity that electrified the heart of the Spanish capital.

A Legendary Career Meets a Historic Stage

The event carried added weight, as it marked a milestone in Estefan’s career, which features 50 years of breaking boundaries, selling over 100 million albums, collecting multiple Grammy Awards, and becoming a global ambassador of Latin music.

From her early days with Miami Sound Machine to her status as one of the most influential Latin artists of all time, her presence turned the concert into a living tribute to the history and future of Latin music.

Gloria Estefan, winner of multiple Grammy awards and more than 100 million records sold, offers a journey through the songs that marked generations, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of her career.

As Estefan declared to roaring applause: “We have to celebrate what unites us: this incredible language. What a joy to be part of such a special celebration!”

A Setlist That Spanned Generations

Fans were treated to a powerful mix of nostalgia and fresh sounds. Estefan performed her timeless classics, including “Oye mi canto,” “Mi Tierra,” “Conga,” and “Hoy,” each sparking wild sing-alongs and dancing that rippled through the crowd. But she also spotlighted her latest work, performing tracks from her new album "Raíces," a project blending traditional Latin rhythms with modern arrangements.

Two standout moments elevated the night even further. Rising Argentine star Nathy Peluso joined Estefan for a fiery rendition of “Chirriqui Chirri,” merging generations of Latin artistry into one explosive performance.

Later, Estefan’s daughter, Emily Estefan, took the stage for an emotional tribute to great women in music, beginning with a soulful nod to Billie Holiday. 

Organized by the Community of Madrid as part of Hispanic Day festivities, the concert reflected this year’s motto: “All accents belong in Madrid.” The free-access event transformed the city into a crossroads of cultures, languages, and identities, bringing thousands together under one rhythm.

Gloria Estefan’s Hispanidad 2025 performance was a moment of cultural pride, a reminder of Latin music’s global power, and proof of the artist’s enduring relevance. For thousands of attendees, Sunday morning in Madrid was about looking forward, celebrating roots while embracing evolution.

50 Years of Gloria 

Gloria Estefan's appearance in Madrid is a full-circle moment. Not only did she sing her timeless hits, but she also debuted new tracks from her critically acclaimed 2025 album "Raíces,"  a project that's as personal as it is powerful. "It's an honor to share this moment in a city that has always embraced Latin culture so warmly," Estefan said. "Madrid holds a very special place in my heart, and I can't wait to celebrate our roots together."

Released in May, Estefan's album "Raíces" is a blend of traditional Latin rhythms and contemporary production. Created at Miami's renowned Crescent Moon Studios and directed by her husband and legendary producer Emilio Estefan, the album is already receiving praise for its emotional depth and cultural significance.
