With the Golden Globes almost here, fans can't wait to see A-list names like George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Leonardo DiCaprio walk the red carpet. But their plus-1s are equally as exciting. The One Battle After Another star is nominated this year for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. With every awards show with DiCaprio in attendance, one question is on everyone's mind: Will DiCaprio finally walk the red carpet with his girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti?
DiCaprio has always played it close to the vest when it comes to awards-show appearances and his personal life. He’ll walk a carpet, pose solo, greet collaborators, and disappear inside with ease. Dates, if they happen, usually stay off-camera.
DiCaprio has long had a reputation, with the ongoing joke that he breaks up with his girlfriend once they turn 25. Ceretti, however, is 27, which proves that this relationship is different.
He and Ceretti have been dating since 2023, and have yet to walk a red carpet together. They are still going strong, most recently vacationing with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, which earned him a joke at the Critics' Choice Awards from Chelsea Handler.
Why it might happen
They do seem to be inching closer and closer to a red-carpet moment. At the 2025 Hollywood premiere of One Battle After Another, DiCaprio walked the carpet solo while Ceretti met him inside.
And at the Met Gala in May 2025, Leo made his first-ever appearance, and Ceretti walked the carpet alone, and the two linked up once inside, skipping a joint entrance. And at Cannes that same month, they were both in attendance but kept things low-key, steering clear of any public red-carpet displays altogether.
The Golden Globes, historically, are also the most “date-friendly” of the major awards shows. It’s where couples debut more often than at the Oscars, which tend to be more formal and traditional. If there were ever a night for Leo to quietly change the narrative, this would be it.
There’s also the nostalgia factor. This year’s ceremony is bringing together a rare concentration of A-list heavyweights, including familiar faces Leo has shared iconic awards-season moments with before.
Still, DiCaprio may stick to his long-standing approach: solo arrival, and maybe he'll meet them inside. That’s been his playbook for decades, and it’s worked. When he attended the Oscars 2020 and sat inside with his ex-girlfriend Camila Morrone, people were shocked.
