Queen Rania of Jordan makes a notable appearance in the first trailer for 'Melania,' the upcoming Prime Video documentary that traces Melania Trump’s return to the White House ahead of President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.
Released this week, the trailer offers a first look at the film, which will premiere on January 30 on Prime Video and documents the 20 days leading up to the inauguration.
Promising “unprecedented access” and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, the documentary captures critical meetings, private conversations, and pivotal moments during Melania Trump’s transition back into the role of First Lady.
One standout moment in the trailer highlights Melania’s friendship with Queen Rania, whom she has met several times over the years. In the scene, Melania says, “Together with like-minded leaders, we have a voice,” as footage shows the two women in conversation at the White House.
Queen Rania appears dressed in an all-black ensemble, while Melania wears a white look, underscoring the significance of their diplomatic exchange.
Queen Rania’s appearance in the documentary reflects a long-standing relationship between the two women. During President Trump’s first term, the Jordanian royal visited the White House in 2017 and 2018, engaging in discussions with Melania on global challenges, particularly those affecting children and education.
Their collaboration continued in 2025 when Queen Rania attended the launch of Melania’s new global initiative, Fostering the Future Together, unveiled on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The initiative aims to enhance children’s well-being through education, innovation, and technology, with a focus on preparing young people for the digital era.
Spouses of heads of state and government, including Queen Rania, were among the guests at the New York launch event. The two women also reconnected earlier in the year in Palm Beach, where they discussed children’s welfare and improving access to education.
Following the meeting, Queen Rania shared a photo of the pair, writing, “It was a pleasure reconnecting with incoming U.S. First Lady Melania Trump in Florida.”
With Queen Rania’s appearance highlighting Melania’s global alliances, the documentary positions the First Lady not only as a political figure but as a diplomatic presence working alongside international leaders on shared priorities.
The film follows the First Lady across Washington, D.C., New York, Florida, and beyond. Viewers see Melania walking into the U.S. Capitol on Inauguration Day wearing her much-discussed black-and-white hat, as well as moments filmed inside the White House, Mar-a-Lago, and Trump Tower.
In an interview with Fox News, Melania explained why she chose to document this period of her life. “The 20 days of my life, preceding the U.S. presidential inauguration, constitute a rare and defining moment, one that warrants meticulous care, integrity, and uncompromising craftsmanship,” she said.
Melania also serves as an executive producer on the project, which is part of a multi-million-dollar deal with Amazon MGM Studios.
